Innovating
in the Mature Market

The Hartford is partnering with
the MIT AgeLab to invent the future.

The needs of customers change and evolve as they grow older, especially as they enter their 60s, 70s and later years. The Hartford keeps pace with these changes through the work of The Hartford Center for Mature Market Excellence, which is staffed by gerontologists who provide insight on the special needs and changing perspectives of the ever-growing mature market.

Since its creation in 1984, the Center has distinguished itself for its expertise on aging as part of The Hartford's exclusive arrangement to provide home and automobile insurance to members of the AARP, the premier organization for mature Americans.

The Center is uniquely positioned to apply its knowledge of aging to develop one-of-a-kind products and services for The Hartford's customers, and specialized training for The Hartford's employees. The Center conducts original research, often in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab, and produces public education programs on safety, mobility and independence.

As Americans grow older, The Hartford works with partners, like AARP and the MIT AgeLab, to help make the journey as fulfilling as possible.
