What Is Considered a Classic Car?

Not every car qualifies for classic auto insurance. Hagerty defines classic cars as those that are manufactured in 1979 or earlier. For example, types of cars that qualify for classic car insurance are:

  • 1957 Ford Thunderbird
  • 1965 Chevy Corvette
  • 1970 Chevy Chevelle
To get coverage, your vehicle also needs to be a “spare” car that’s taken out for fun and not used daily. Drivers that use these vehicles on a regular basis will need different coverage. Classic and collector cars should be stored in enclosed safe spaces, like a private garage, storage unit or carport, for extra protection.

And we understand that classic cars deserve much more protection beyond a standard auto insurance policy. That’s why you’ll want quality car insurance coverage to help pay for repairs when you need them. This is especially true because replacement parts can be costly and hard to find.
